As we head into Thanksgiving weekend, I’m feeling so thankful for the chance to share these stories with you. This week, I wrote about the cozy comfort of Japanese winter traditions and how nabé (Adding the accent to help non-Japanese speakers know it’s pronounced “nah-bay”) brings people together. There’s something about gathering around a steaming pot that feels universal, even when the flavors are distinctly Japanese. Pair that with the spirit of Thanksgiving, and you have a season that’s all about warmth, gratitude, and connection. I also reflected on why creating learning that truly matters is at the heart of what I do at Japan Consulting Office. For me, it’s never just about ticking boxes, it’s about designing experiences that resonate, that help people work better together, and that leave a lasting impact. Every workshop and program we create is meant to bridge cultural gaps and build trust, because that’s what makes global teams thrive. And for something a little adventurous, I shared a piece about going off the beaten path in Kamakura: trail running through quiet forest trails to Zeniarai Benten Shrine, a hidden spot where history, nature, and a touch of superstition meet. It’s one of those places that reminds you how rewarding it can be to take the less-traveled route.
