This week, I’ve been writing about some incredible moments from last week that I didn’t want to keep to myself. One evening was especially memorable, a conversation with Jake Adelstein that reminded me how important it is to stay true to yourself, even when life pulls you in different directions. I also took a deep dive into the intersection of Japanese HR and U.S. HR trends. The challenges and opportunities in bridging these approaches are fascinating, and the global talent conversation feels more relevant than ever. On a lighter note, I revisited the bittersweet aromas and bold flavors of TCHO in Berkeley. Chocolate tells stories, and this one was all about sustainability and craft. And speaking of creativity, I explored the playful world of Kaomoji, those decorative Japanese characters that make digital communication so much more fun than plain emoticons. Community was another big theme this week. Coffee chats with people at Transform reminded me why HR is such a dynamic space, and another meeting with GLOBIS sparked exciting ideas for next year. It’s amazing what can happen when passionate people come together. With Thanks/Friendsgiving just around the corner, I’d love to hear what you’re most grateful for this year.
