I had an incredible long weekend camping on my local mountain. It was a wonderful opportunity to disconnect and simply enjoy the great outdoors. I hope you found some time to do the same! While relaxing in my hammock, I was completely captivated by the novel “Sweet Bean Paste.” It’s a beautiful story with an unexpected twist based on true historical events. It reminded me just how fortunate many of us are to live in safe spaces with our loved ones nearby. Even now that I’m older, I find that books continue to inspire me to become a better person. They help me reflect on my own privilege and preconceived notions. By holding up a mirror and imagining myself in others' shoes, I realize how much there still is to learn.
