Aisai (愛妻~): Cultivating love through thoughtful acts

You may have heard of Aisaibento (愛妻弁当 - loving wife bento), the salaryman lunchbox carefully prepared by his wife. This culinary tradition embodies the love, care, and effort that a wife puts into preparing a bento (弁当) for her husband. Nowadays of course there will be husbands preparing these for their wives too!

My husband and I both work from home, so no bento's necessary, but we both do lots of other aisai towards each other. A few examples:

☕ AisaiCoffee: I'm an early riser so I bring him his first cup of the day

🍩 AisaiDonut: He knows I like sweets so he'll surprise me

🧹 AisaiChores: Joining in when you see the other take care of a task

You could say that aisai encompasses all thoughtful actions that express love for a spouse. By being thoughtful toward the other you can create a nurturing environment that enhances your relationship and deepens your connection.

What about you? Do you use aisai to cherish your loved ones?
